Understanding Grade Point Average (GPA)
Grade Point Average is a standard indicator of academic performance, calculated on a 4.0 scale (A=4, B=3, C=2, D=1, F=0). To account for varying course workloads, GPA is weighted using course credit hours.
Each letter grade is converted to quality points, multiplied by course credits, and summed. The total quality points are then divided by total credit hours to determine the cumulative GPA.
